In scope of the Inclusive Pathways to Peace (IPP) project, YEU Cyprus hosted two sessions of The Great Escape Workshops with young volunteers to develop the escape room scenarios initiated during the mobility in Croatia.
With the participation of young individuals who also participated in the mobility, the workshops hosted young volunteers who used their creative magic to further develop and enhance the escape room scenarios. The two escape room scenarios developed from the Cyprus team are as follows:
- The Loop: An escape room focusing on the theme of exposure to marginalized groups which is a theme extracted from the research conducted by the youth teams in partner countries in the earlier stages of the IPP project. It is connected to the overall objectives of the project, as it provides an innovative way to discuss marginalization, discrimination & human rights. The escape room explores the history of different marginalized groups (such as LGBTQIA+ community, migrants/refugees, and people with disabilities) and their connection to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
- The Office: An escape room focuses on uncovering how institutions can systematically marginalize certain groups, making discrimination less visible but deeply entrenched. It offers an innovative and experiential approach to addressing marginalization, inequality, and human rights. The escape room examines how institutional frameworks impact some groups by highlighting barriers related to access, representation, and equal treatment.
We can’t wait to share the escape rooms with you! Stay tuned for more information!
