Project description
We have chosen a topic which has no borders, environmental sustainability, with a focus on the 4R’s: reduce, reuse, recycle and recover. Youth will work together to gain knowledge on the effects of leading a non-sustainable lifestyle. Participants will share how they deal with sustainability in their home countries through the added benefit of being part of an intercultural environment. Intercultural dialogue and communication will be approached through an environmental theme and the thematic area of multi-communal societies and division.
Organization
YEU Cyprus stands for Youth for Exchange and Understanding Cyprus and it is a nonpolitical, non governmental organization (NGO) based in Nicosia, Cyprus. Since 1995, the aim of YEU is to foster closer co-operation and better understanding among youngsters through the exchange of experiences and ideas. It is one of the biggest youth organizations in Cyprus numbering more than 1000 members and is considered one of the most active organizations of the island, realizing several activities both on an international and local level

Participants profile: We are looking for young people, aged 18-30 years old and good English skills, who are willing to share ideas and viewpoints on the topic of nationalism and division of countries.

Preparatory visit (only for leaders)
Project description
Through the PV the young people in charge of the project and YEU Cyprus will have the opportunity to further discuss and decide with the leaders of the groups on the final working methods, the timetable, activities that the YE will have. The specific objectives of this meeting will be to prepare the leaders for the YE, to set the course and tone of the project, exchange NFE activities and good practices in regards to our topic, create cohesion and team spirit between leaders. Furthermore, we will ensure a reinforced preparation that will take place before the YE. Specifically, through this meeting we will ensure that the aims and objectives of this project are clear to everyone, evaluation and reporting process will be decided upon, discussion on the participants profiles and their needs will be done, a division of tasks amongst the leaders and their responsibilities will be assigned, any activities or tasks we would like to take place before the YE will be planned, and the final activities and timetable of the Youth Exchange will be concluded.

Participants profile: leader needs to be between the age of 20-40, an active youth worker or youth activist that is affiliated with our partner organizations.
