ARSIS is looking for 6 volunteers from 18 to 30 years old, from Cyprus (2), Italy (2) and Spain (2), for a 8 months project in Thessaloniki, Greece.

About ARSIS:

ARSIS was established in 1992 with the aim to support socially disadvantaged children who are threatened with social exclusion and marginalisation, to safeguard human rights and also to develop services for vulnerable social groups. Its action in Thessaloniki was established in 1996 and to date it has carried out a great deal of programs in 10 cities of the wider region of Northern Greece.
ARSIS currently operates a vast number of structures, such as Youth Support Centers (YSC), a Shelter for the Temporary Accommodation of Children & Youth in danger. “The House of ARSIS”, 18 Accommodation Facilities for Unaccompanied Children in Athens, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Alexandroupoli and Volos, and participates in a number of EU-funded and national programs regarding child protection and integration of people from vulnerable groups.

About the program:

The program will focus on supporting young migrants, as well as other non-privileged social groups living in precarious conditions that might hinder their smooth personal development and upbringing. Such conditions may be due to inadequate family support, neglect, abuse, exploitation, rejection from the education system, migration, refugee status, lack of housing, unemployment, legal troubles, etc.

The volunteers that will participate in the program are expected to witness the refugee and migration crisis in Greece at its core and gain valuable professional and personal skills.

Volunteer profile:

  • The volunteer should have a genuine interest to learn about the refugee crisis.
  • The volunteer should be interested in providing social support to different kinds of vulnerable groups.
  • The volunteer should possess strong solidarity spirit.
  • The volunteer should be open-minded, pro-active, willing to learn and to work within a team, eager to put their skills to use for creative workshops.
  • We welcome volunteers from all educational levels.

When: the project will start as soon as possible
