Paleozoic Walks – A European Solidarity Corps Opportunity in Monsagro, Spain

Monsagro is a small village located in the district Salamanca (Castilla y León) and it is about 300 km away from Madrid. It has a population of around 140 inhabitants, but due to its peaceful beauty and ideal climate, this rises to around 1000 in the summer months. The village has a brand new interactive fossil museum that opened this year, as well as marine fossils over 400 million years old embedded all round the village. It also has 1 communal library, a botanical garden, a recreational center for the elderly.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to choose between working with children or doing environmental work. There is also the option of doing a bit of both. Furthermore, interested volunteers will have the opportunity to get involved in the museum and give guided tours to tourists visiting the area.

Volunteers Profile: Intermediate level of Spanish and English Language and interested in environmental and geological activities.
