The aim of our project is to explore the different types of misinformation, raise our awareness and recognise the importance of continued research and fact checking. Through several activities of non-formal education and interactive learning activities, we will also enhance the emotional IQ of youngsters & their perspective-changing skills, so that they can understand that they, themselves, can also spread unintentionally fake news. We will equip them with skills to critically review their own perceptions and become responsible information distributors through their social media at an individual level. All in all, we aim to increase societal resilience to misinformation and to promote critical thinking of youth.
Therefore, the main objective of this project is to make young people face the contemporary challenges of misinformation and disinformation (e.g. fact-checking, critical thinking, comparison of different sources, etc.) and increase their participation in democratic life and become active members of the European civil society. Moreover, we focus on the power of participatory approach to learning and how it positively influences our way of thinking, feeling and living, so that it becomes an amazing empowerment tool enhancing personal & social responsibility, which are necessary in the modern pluralistic and democratised media landscape.
