MC Idrija, is a youth organisation based in Idrija, Slovenia. The organisation focuses on empowering young people to express and implement their ideas. Their aim is to improve the local environment and the way to achieve this is through youth work.
Idrija is a town in Western Slovenia. It is located in a valley surrounded by hills and forests. The town is known for it's mercury mine which became a UNESCO World Heritage Sight in 2012.
The project is about bringing together 2 volunteers from different countries to help, learn and exchange ideas with each other and with the team of MC Idrija. The main activities will be related to Street Youth Work and the Idrija Youth Hostel. Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet, talk and learn from the locals of the municipality. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to speak with tourists staying at the hostel. More importantly, volunteers will be spending their days interacting with the youth doing several and varied activities.
When: 17th of April - 18th of December 2020
